Book Suggestion List (Elementary - Middle School)

   Hey there! Welcome back.

Are you, or someone you know, in need of a good book? Well then, you've come to the right place! In this blog, I have listed several elementary/middle schooled aged book suggestions. If it is on this list, then I have read it and enjoyed it. Also, everything on this list is wholesome and good for the whole family. So without further ado, let's find you some books!

"Because of Winn-Dixie" - also known as the book that ignited my love of reading.

"Book Scavenger" - oh, if you only knew the amount of research it took to remember the name of this book. But the story is memorable, even if the title isn't! Its a mystery involving books and word puzzles.

"Mr. Lemoncello's Library" - I still talk about this one! It's literally about a library escape room - how cool is that?

"The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane" - this sweet, precious story... I even dressed up as him (Edward Tulane, the bunny) for a book character dress up day!

"Blood on the River" - this one might not be for everyone, but I throughly enjoyed it. It's a historical fiction book about Jamestown, and it was very interesting.

"Where the Red Fern Grows" - a classic. The dogs, the character growth, the nostalgia... so sad, but a must read.

"The Outsiders" - another good ole' classic that I couldn't not include. Of course its a bit heavier than the others on this list, but worth the read. #staygold

"Wonder" - I truly think that everyone should read this book! A beautiful, heartwarming story. This is one of my all time favorites.

"Auggie and Me" - this is the sequel to "Wonder," and it is just as heartwarming. One thing I love about these books are the split points of view, and in this one you get to hear from characters that you didn't hear from in the first book.

"The Boxcar Children" - do you like mysteries? What about siblings solving said mysteries? Then here's a series for you! They also live in a boxcar, hints the name...

"Rush Revere" - Hear me out. Even if you, or your child, or your friend, or whoever is looking for a book doesn't like history... you should still try this series out. It's about a history teacher with a time traveling horse, and he brings his students back in time for field trips. Anddd it's written by Rush Limbaugh, so you know it's historical and patriotic.

"When Zachary Beaver Came to Town" - a sentimental story about learning to not judge a book by it's cover, and that you never know what someone is going through. This story focuses a lot on friendship and I remember that there was a lot of character growth.

"A Long Way From Chicago"- this is a coming-of-age story about family, starring a wacky, lovable Grandma. This book is very funny, and surprisingly a little emotional.

"The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" - a classic that, I personally think, is so entertaining! I mean, how can you not like mischievous and funny Tom?

"Johnny Tremain" - I love this one! Its one of my favorite books that I've ever had to read for school. It's about a young apprentice during the time of the Boston Tea Party, and you'll learn so much by reading this.

"Bridge to Terabithia" - this well-known book is one that I think everyone should read. This is a sweet story about friendship, imagination, and courage - but it's also one that calls for a box of tissues close by. #ifyouknowyouknow

And there you go! I will update this list regularly, and I hope that you find it helpful. If you enjoy a book from this list, please let me know! Also, tell me if you have a book that should be on this list but isn't.

Happy Reading!
